As a key component of the maritime monitoring system, the Coast Guard faces challenges such as search and rescue at sea, illegal fishing, marine pollution, human and goods trafficking, and piracy. In joint activities with the competent state administration bodies, it acts as an authorized body established by the Central Coordination for Surveillance and Protection of the Maritime Rights and Interests of the Republic of Croatia. The analysis of available data, processed using the MATLAB programming language, indicates the importance of procuring new vessels, whose use has resulted in significant progress in the conservation of marine resources. The results indicate the need for further fleet modernization to maintain a high level of operational efficiency in protecting the interests of the Republic of Croatia on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. %@ 2083-6473 %R 10.12716/1001.20.02.01
