	abstract = {Galileo is the European Global Navigation Satellite System, under civilian control. Galileo will provide their users with highly accurate global positioning services and their associated integrity information. The main objective of this article is to explain the basis of the Galileo integrity concept, which is fundamental for safety-critical applications such as maritime navigation.
