	abstract = {Due to the increasing of the piracy attacks all over the world, the maritime transport is now fac-ing increased risk and security problems. To prevent and minimize the impact of the piracy, the owners and the maritime administrations must take preventive actions/measures. One of these actions is the implementa-tion at a global level of the Long Range Identification and Tracking system (LRIT). The system, mandatory under SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 19-1, is now operational since one year and proved to be a useful secu-rity tool against piracy.},
